Get Involved

We need your help to keep the momentum rolling.  Here’s how you can help out with the projects we are currently working on:

Friends of WALLY:

The Friends of WALLY is an organization of citizens building support for the WALLY commuter rail service between Howell and Ann Arbor.  You can check them out on Facebook here. To join the Friends of WALLY e-mail list for the latest information on organization meetings and ways you pitch in to help get WALLY running, contact Michael Lamb at friendsofwally@gmail.com.

Coast-to-Coast:

With help from our long list of supporters, the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority, and the Michigan Department of Transportation we’ve secured a federal grant to complete a ridership assessment for the corridor connecting Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids and Holland. We are in the process of preparing a request for proposals to release in search of a consultant. In the mean time, here are few easy ways you can get involved:

  • Add your name to our list of supporters. Your backing will help demonstrate public support for this project as we move forward.  Send an e-mail to Liz Treutel at liz@environmentalcouncil.org – she’ll add your name (or organization / business name) to the website and email list to keep you informed, and if you’re interested, help you craft a letter of support.
  • Participate in the stakeholder advisory committee. This is the easiest way to stay updated and provide feedback throughout the initial ridership assessment and on potential future stages of the project. Give us an email address and we’ll get you in the loop.
  • Learn more. We’re glad to answer your questions.  If there’s information about the Coast-to-Coast that you can’t find on our website, just send a note to Liz Treutel at liz@environmentalcouncil.org or giver her a call at (517) 999-0414.
